MICECC empowers people and communities to meet their own needs through a variety of interventions. We intervene across multiple sectors by implementing integrated, comprehensive, and logically packaged projects that respond to a number of humanitarian and development needs in the communities of Terre Noire, Cité Soleil, Menelas and Barrière Fer.
The mission of MICECC is to transform lives through church development, education, medical and health care, construction, and economic development in Haiti.
Our approach
By working together, MICECC and HOM can provide a more wholistic ministry to the people of Haiti. Revisions and the development of plans to implement new approaches are constantly being developed by MICECC’s team to provide excellent quality services to the communities. These plans incorporate strong safeguarding and anticorruption standards and cross-cutting themes, such as gender mainstreaming, leadership development and networking. MICECC is committed to promoting the rights and dignity of the people and communities that it serves.
MICECC adopts an asset-based development model that prioritizes the development of adapted responses to the needs of the commune of Cité Soleil. We target the populations who have been historically underserved, including women, girls, adolescents, and other key underserved people, with a focus on equity.
Where we work
We work in Cité Soleil, one of the poorest areas of Port- Au- Prince, Haiti. It’s a very poor and densely populated commune located in the metropolitan area of Haiti. Cité Soleil was initially a shanty town; it grew to become the place where the poorest of the poor live.
